AMD Unveils TressFX


Earlier this week, AMD unveiled TressFX, the world's first Real-Time hair rendering technology debuting in the new Tomb Raider set for release March 5th. So far it looks very promising for the next generation of graphics in games creating the visibility of separate hairs and reflections instead of textured polygons. Can't wait to see where this technology will lead.

Oculus Rift VR

The Oculus Rift. A virtual reality headset aimed at pulling you out of your chair and into the gaming world. Although no release date has been announced for the consumer version, they will be shipping out dev kits next month for those who have pre-ordered. Specs as of right now are a 720p screen (hopes to raise to 1080p for consumer version) and 1000Hz refresh rate all while being in full Stereoscopic 3D. All I know is that I will be getting one.
